OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE GRANT VALLEY TOWN BOARD OF SUPERVISORS MEETING OF THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, 2016.

 

The Grant Valley Town Board of Supervisors met for their scheduled monthly business meeting on Thursday September 8, 2016 at the Grant Valley Town Hall.††

 

Board Members and employees present were Hiltz, Rauch, Moudry, Treasurer Boyer and Clerk Schmidt.

 

Chairman Hiltz welcomed everyone and called the meeting to order with the pledge to the flag at 7:00 pm.

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

Supervisor Rauch made a motion to approve the August 11, 2016, regular meeting Minutes.Motion seconded by Supervisor Moudry and carried on unanimous voice call vote.

 

TREASURERíS REPORT:

Treasurer Boyer reported the fund balances of General $188,512.69, Road and Bridge $636,882.59, Fire Fund $88,455.87 with outstanding checks of $1,700.00 for a total cash on hand balance of $834,751.15.Supervisor Moudry made a motion to accept the Treasurer's Report subject to audit. Supervisor Rauch seconded motion and it carried on unanimous roll call vote.†††

 

PAYMENT OF BILLS:

The bills were reviewed.Supervisor Rauch made a motion to pay the bills as presented.Supervisor Moudry seconded motion and it carried on unanimous roll call vote.††

 

NEW BUSINESS:

Discussion on a deer that was hit on Grant Valley Road and what we should do in the future if this happens and no-one moves it.It was felt that the county should be called.

 

Dick Moore from Beltrami County called the Clerk asking if they could get a key to the new gate and he was told the gate didnít have a lock on it yet but we would let him know when it is on.Wednesday at 4:00 the signs are going to get put up and the gate will get locked then and he will be given a key.

 

Keith Mattison inquired about shouldering on his road.We will look at it on our Road Tour in the spring.

 

Wade Thoring indicated that the end of the driveway at Jay Porterís on Schroeder Road is washing out and we might need a culvert.Rodney Platt also asked Wade if he could get a load of gravel by his approach on the field.He is chipping up the tar.Supervisor Hiltz made a motion to put a culvert at Jay Porterís driveway and a load of gravel on Rodneyís approach.Supervisor Rauch seconded motion and it carried on unanimous roll call vote.

 

OLD BUSINESS:

The new school being built passed.†††

 

REPORTS:

None.

 

ROADS:

Supervisor Moudry received a call from Rich at Skeeter Stitch asking for more gravel on Pollux as it is washing out.Wade Thoring indicated he could fix it up and get some gravel on it.

 

There are culverts that were taken out of Doris Court about 44í and Wade keeps getting asked if the township wants to sell them.It was indicated that we need to keep them in case we need them in the future.

 

As there was no further business, Supervisor Moudry made motion to adjourn. Supervisor Rauch seconded motion and it carried on unanimous voice call vote.Meeting adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
