OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE GRANT VALLEY TOWN BOARD OF SUPERVISORS BOARD OF REVIEW OF TUESDAY, APRIL 25, 2017.†
The Grant Valley Town Board of Supervisors met for their yearly Board of Review on Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at 9:00 a.m. at the Grant Valley Town Hall.†
Supervisor Hiltz called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.
Board Members present were Hiltz, Moudry, Fuller and Clerk Schmidt.† Joe Skerick was present from the county and Bob Seado, the township assessor was also present.
The meeting was adjourned due to the fact that the Supervisors certificates of training for this meeting are expired.† Joe Skerick from the county took over the meeting and it was re-opened.
Angie Theis Ė Averi Circle.† Not happy that she got an 11% increase and feels she is being over taxed as her neighbors arenít being taxed the same way she is.† She had her value reduced last year but it went up again and she feels there is no consistency with the process.† Bob Seado will go meet Angie at her residence and go through it with her at a time they choose.†
Craig and Jenny Miller Ė They have a trailer home development that has moved in across the street from them that is making people not want to purchase homes in the area.† They are wondering if this will affect their home value.† Joe will look into this further and get ahold of Millers.
Dan and Jeanette Lund Ė Feel that most of their property is wetland and are wondering what wetland is classified at per acre.† It was indicated by Joe that it is classified at 900.00 per acre.† The county records didnít match the Lundís records so they will have to look into this further.
Edward Rauch Ė Feels his neighbors arenít paying enough taxes.† There is a garage with a business on the property that wasnít complete when the assessments were done but it is complete now.† There is no well and septic there.† Also there are 4-plexes going up next to him, 4 total, and he is wondering if that will raise his home value.† Discussion held.†
Sales for the year in Grant Valley were reviewed and the values versus the sales were at about 87%.
No other issues were brought forward.
