OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE GRANT VALLEY TOWN BOARD OF SUPERVISORS MEETING OF THURSDAY, JANUARY 12, 2017.

 

The Grant Valley Town Board of Supervisors met for their scheduled monthly business meeting on Thursday January 12, 2017 at the Grant Valley Town Hall.††

 

Board Members and employees present were Hiltz, Rauch, Moudry, Treasurer Boyer and Clerk Schmidt.

 

Chairman Hiltz welcomed everyone and called the meeting to order with the pledge to the flag at 7:00 pm.

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

Supervisor Rauch made a motion to approve the December 8, 2016, regular meeting Minutes.Motion seconded by Supervisor Moudry and carried on unanimous voice call vote.

 

TREASURERíS REPORT:

Treasurer Boyer reported the fund balances of General $116297.86, Road and Bridge $654208.00,

Fire Fund $79544.87 with no outstanding checks for a total cash on hand balance of $850050.73.Supervisor Moudry made a motion to accept the Treasurer's Report subject to audit. Supervisor Rauch seconded motion and it carried on unanimous roll call vote.†††

 

PAYMENT OF BILLS:

The bills were reviewed.Supervisor Rauch made a motion to pay the bills as presented.Supervisor Moudry seconded motion and it carried on unanimous roll call vote.††

 

NEW BUSINESS:

Supervisor Rauchís full time day job has changed and he will be driving too far and wonít be able to serve on the board after his time is up in March.We will try to see if anyone is interested.Otherwise the ballot will have a write in spot only.

 

Supervisor Rauch made a motion to set the Board of Audit for Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 6:30 p.m.Motion seconded by Supervisor Moudry and carried on unanimous voice call vote.

 

Supervisor Hiltz made a motion to designate the Bemidji Pioneer as our official newspaper and to publish all the yearly meeting dates as the second Thursday of each month unless otherwise noted.Supervisor Rauch seconded motion and it carried on unanimous voice call vote.

 

Treasurer Boyer received a call from Chris Justice on Hidden Trail Court stating his road is bad.

 

Letter received from Beltrami County on tax forfeited land was reviewed.Supervisor Moudry made a motion to approve 1 & 2 on the letter and return.Supervisor Rauch seconded motion and it carried on unanimous voice call vote.

 

A request for a 10 unit assisting living was received by Supervisor Hiltz.As we have no land use a letter should be sent.Supervisor Hiltz made a motion to send a letter to him that we have no regulations on land use and he will forward on.Supervisor Moudry seconded motion and it carried on unanimous voice call vote.

 

OLD BUSINESS:

 

Nate from the City was present and lengthy discussion held on the new school and the roads affecting it.The county board indicated that there might be 4 roundabouts, one at Jefferson, one at the Becida Road and two at the high school.They supposedly have less severe accidents.Nate indicated that some annexation will be done and that Stuís, Skeeter Stitch, Huderles and the empty lot should get the ball rolling regarding orderly annexation.He will send samples of papers for that to Supervisor Hiltz.The school would be annexed first and then the 4 parcels after that.

 

REPORTS:

None.††

 

ROADS:

Lots of complaints on the snow drifts on the roads.There are drifts at Carmen, Kimmer, Misty Meadows and Balsam Ridge.Thorings were asked if they could get the blade down more as there are lots of complaints of snow left on the road.A mailbox got hit on Monarch and needs to be fixed as well and they may have to do some sanding on the gravel roads if it gets warm next week.Is it o.k. to move snow to the other side of the road by Noahís on Stone Lake.O.k. to go ahead with that.

 

We need to discuss brushing on the road tour this year.

 

 

As there was no further business, Supervisor Moudry made motion to adjourn. Supervisor Hiltz seconded motion and it carried on unanimous voice call vote.Meeting adjourned at 9:10 p.m.
